My name is Roberta McAvoy and I work as a missionary with Flying Mission in Botswana in Africa. I am a trained Occupational Therapist and social worker with extensive management experience. My current role is to co-ordinate capacity building and efforts in the community for those infected and affected by HIV/Aids. HIV/Aids is a huge killer in Botswana with at least 1 in 3 people being infected.
Before I followed my calling to go to Africa I worked in Nepal on similar issues and have been a senior local government officer at home, which is in Wales in the UK, for more than 30 years.
I am now 61 and have 2 children and 3 grandchildren who live in Germany.
